With a clear lead in SMS votes(40 thousand more than runner up Durga) Najim from Trivadrum today won the Idea Star Singer 2007 competition. He got a brand new flat worth 40 lakhs in cochin from confident group! Runner up Durga got a Ford Fiesta car!

Amrita TV’s Super Dancer is a reality show to find the best dancer in Kerala. It is pretty good and there is a huge viewer base for this program. Since the first prize is a Swift car, the competition is hot.

Alsabith won the Amrita Junior Superstar event on Sunday. It was a tight competition till the last moment with SMS vote lead fluctuating between Alsabith and Pradeesh. In the end it was Alsabith’s day. He won a total prize money of 2.5 lakh rupees.

Currently Amrita TV is running junior superstar - A reality TV program similar to Pop Idol or American Idol. I think its viewership is considerably lower than the original Superstar program. Reason? - Repetition means boredom.
