Ministry of communications & information technology has released a suite of tools for Malayalam language. You can download them here. The package contains,

Malayalam fonts (true type, open type etc.)
Malayalam spell checker
Malayalam-English and English-Malayalam dictionaries
Malayalam Microsoft word tool
Malayalam OCR (very useful!)
Malayalam text to speech tool
