Kerala Postal Service has signed an agreement with REVA electric car company recently. As per the agreement RECC will provide 3 customized electric cars, which will be used to collect and deliver speed post items in and around Trivandrum! As per Supreme court directives, Kerala Government has decided to make marriage certificates mandatory for all. It will be applicable for all religions. So the so called “uniform civil code” is coming through the backdoor slowly and steadily. Bihar is the only other state where marriage registration is mandatory.

Whenever any new regulation is introduced by government, it invariably leads to corruption. The easiest way to reduce corruption is to reduce permits/approvals etc. required from government departments.

In 1975, Indira Gandhi declared Emergency rule in India which lasted for 18 months. It was very effective in bringing discipline at the time (for example, government employees used to report at office on time). I think we need something similar declared in Kerala (after imposing President’s rule).
