The myth of Kalamachal paradise!
September 8th, 2008
I recently got a email forward saying that the pictures contained are taken from Trivandrum district. The email goes on to say,
The pictures taken are from a place called KALAMACHAL. Kalamachal is near Vamanapuram near the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. Kalamachal is situated Vamanapuram-Attingal road.(Between NH47 and MC Road). Exactly 3kms from Vamanapuram and and 10 kms from attingal. This place is near the banks of the Vamanapuram river.
I was stunned to see the above picture and wondered why I never visited this place in my last 30 years of stay in Trivandrum!
Wait, don’t plan your next trip to Kalamachal. This is actually Lohagarh fort in Pune, Maharashtra. I wonder why someone would forward it as Kalamachal!
