Monkeys at Charpa falls - athirappally vazhachal road (Photo #4)
August 4th, 2008

The above photo is taken near Charpa falls which is a spectacular roadside waterfall during rainy season. You can get a glimpse of the waterfall on the left side of the photo. This place is located on the road to Vazhachal forest from Athirappally. Athirappally/Vazhachal attracts a large number of tourists.
A striking feature of athirappally is the abundance of monkeys. They survive on the food snatched from tourists (they are experts on this skill!) and are not afraid of humans. But beware, they can be dangerous if you refuse to share your snacks with them.
