KSRTC introduces bus route numbers in Trivandrum
June 10th, 2008
At last KSRTC has implemented bus route numbers for city services in Trivandrum. Earlier the bus routes were written only in Malayalam and most of the boards were difficult to read. Also people from outside and tourists had a tough time finding the bus to their destination.
KSRTC operates around 1522 distinct city services. All these services have been given numbers. The bus route numbering starts at 101 and the last number is 999.
Services between places are given a distinct number. If the service takes a different route, an alphabet is added to identify the specific route. For example - East Fort to Kovalam service has the number 111. The main route in this case is via thiruvallam. There is another service to Kovalam from East Fort via Bypass and this service is given a sub number 111A.
The bus routes which are circular in nature ends with a zero.
Following are the major bus route numbers in Trivandrum. Note that this list is not exhaustive. Write to me if you have any updates on the route numbers.

The people in the enquiry counter SUCKS !!! …they dont know any language other than malayalam .
They don’t give exact replies . Always give some vague explanation when something is asked .
They are not sure if a bus will come or not …..
They can’t tell when exactly a bus will come ….
They alone can’t be blamed , the entire driver and conductor community are not at all committed to their work ….they just dont care whether they r running the trips or not…Govt.gives them salary …they just want it !!
F**KING people !!! KSRTC
and govt. doesn’t give permits for private parties to run buses too….
KSTRC really posts a ‘BLACK MARK’for Kerala’s reputaion - ‘GODS OWN COUNTRY’.

KSRTC and other private bus drivers, stop your road goondaism!!!! People of Kerala want the police to check these drivers when they drive along highways, most of them don’t obey yellow line rules and speed limits. The police are very eager to check other motorists, but become blind when KSRTC buses violate these.
