The magic controversy - why we malayalees never learn!

If there is one thing that I am almost tired of writing on this blog, it is this - We have a unique knack for forming mafia groups. Groups which control an area of business, an area of art etc. etc.

Vyapari Vyavasayi Association which is a perfect example of such mafias. There are many others such as that of movie producers, movie technicians, etc. etc. The idea is to prevent new entrants in the field. Consider for example, the group called GTEC in technopark. GTEC is a group for the IT companies in Kerala. Their main aim is to restrict employee freedom by having an understanding that no one will hire another company’s employee! It is against constitution of India, but hey who cares?

The latest entrant to mafia list of groups today organized a press meet. It is a group of magicians lead by a magician named Samraj. The association is called "Kerala Brotherhood of magicians". They have started an agitation against the Magic stunt planned by Mohanlal on 27th April! According to them, magicians are insulted by Mohanlal’s fire escape stunt!

The association president Mr. Samraj is planning to get inside a mobile mortuary from tomorrow. He is planning to be inside it till death! It is planned at Marine drive in cochin. So if you want to catch a glimpse of top idiots in Kerala please be at Marine drive at 3PM tomorrow :-)

But looking at it again, it can also be a publicity stunt paid for by Mohanlan or magician Muthukad’s team :-)

Normally I am ashamed to write about such silly issues as this. But my only consolation is that Asianet News dedicated one hour today for this issue.

[...] What India got on August 15, 1947 was political freedom, sadly economic freedom and the freedom to do as you please are still a dream. While economic freedom is stifled by the goverment, which is hell bent on sustaining poverty, personal freedom is limited by various organizations, which for lack of better word can be called only mafia. Every organisation turns into some sort of mafia after some time. This movie mafia will die soon, cos technology is democratising the field. More and more independent movie makers are making good short movies with 0 budgets and distributing them through the internet.
