Lulu supermarket to start operations in Kerala
March 14th, 2008
UAE based retail giant, Lulu is planning to open a huge mall in Cochin very soon. The proposed mall will have a retail space of 1.2 million square feet. Lulu has plans to start hypermarkets and supermarkets in most of the major indian cities.
Lulu is part of EMKE group and is owned by the famous NRI Yusuff Ali. He is a well respected businessman and has won numerous awards the latest being the "pravasi bharathiya samman award".
In gulf, Lulu is famous for quality and the prices they offer are also very competitive. Arrival of Lulu in Kerala will be a boon to the consumers in the long run. More competition means better service and quality.
I hope Mr. Yusuff is aware of what is happening in Kerala. He should think twice as he is taking a huge risk by deciding to start retail operations in Kerala. Right now he is safe from the leechy politicians, but things will be different once he starts operations in Kerala.
