Kerala Tips

Kerala’s IT show has started today in Technopark Trivandrum. The event was inaugurated by chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan. For the next three days, Technopark campus is open to general public and an exhibition is also running for the next three days. This event will conclude on 15th March. The opening timings are from 10:30 am to 6:30 PM. KSRTC will be operating special bus service to technopark.

A lot companies are participating in the event including IBM, Infosys, Microsoft, RedHat, Dell, Wipro and IBS. There is also an IT exhibition which showcases latest products from these companies.

The theme of Kerala IT.Com 2008 is ‘Kerala – The IT Destination Hub – Cutting edge and Viable solutions through use of IT’. A conference on national e-Governance programme is being organized at the travancore hall in technopark as part of IT.com. Other discussion topics include IT best practises, IT education and kerala success stories and challenges.

Complete list of events planned as part of Kerala IT.com 2008 is available here. It is a shame that Kerala IT.com doesn’t even have a Website of its own (especially since it is an annual event!)

Update - The IT exhibition is the worst I have seen so far. The only interesting stall at the venue is by BSNL and the people there are surprisingly helpful. Another friendly stall was from Asianet. All the others were total nonsense. Some of the guys at stalls will stare at you as if asking - “why the hell are you here?” (IBS, Infosys etc.). Pathetic…
