Microsoft conducts software piracy raids in Trivandrum and Kollam
December 20th, 2007
Today there was interesting phenomenon in Trivandrum city. Almost all the computer shops had their shutters half closed! Reason? News leaked out that Microsoft and police is conducting raids to find out usage of pirated software!
It turned out to be a raid against select software companies not hardware vendors. So by afternoon most of the shops were open. It is interesting to note that this time raids were NOT against selling pirated software, but using them!
The word "monopoly" is abused so much in Kerala, calling Microsoft a "monopoly" will be a compliment to Microsoft
OK. Now here is the catch. I am sure even the government officials or police who were part of the raids must be using pirated Microsoft software
