Mockery of law & order in Kerala

I think if there is one thing that will destroy us as a society, it is going to be politicians. They are one category to whom no law seems to apply. For example, the goonda act recently passed by our "beloved" politicians exempt "politicians" from the goonda list. How convenient!
Consider the recent criminal acts of some AIYF workers in Trivandrum. During their anti Big bazaar demonstration, they attacked the police in broad daylight. There is so much evidence that according to Indian law they are sure to get years of imprisonment.
But yet, police cannot even get them into custody. These people roam around because they have the political backing. When they were arrested, their "godfathers" came to police station to protect them!!
If you are an ordinary citizen and gets arrested for even a petty theft, you are sure to get tortured by police. But when it is a serious crime by political "chamchas" what they get is VIP treatment and "food parcels". Can you believe it? - The police questioned the criminals in the presence of their godfathers!
And to rub salt into the wound, these criminals are demanding action against the CI and SI who did their duty! This is when I think the "emergency rule" by Indira Gandhi was not bad after all!
The problem with us is very simple - We have TOO MUCH freedom.

I know one land encroachment case of Mrs.Vijayamma Chandran from Vaikom. Her husband, Mr. Chandran (ASI of Police, Kerala). Ten year back her husband posted to Idukki Dist. So they purchased a plot and constructed a house at Purappuzha Village and staying with family there since then.
They never had a proper pathway to reach their house. So in 2003, they purchased a plotnear Panchayat Road to construct a house. There is a path way at its eastern end for public use. A few months back, some of the neighbors approached them and requested to spare some land on the eastern side to widen the existing pathway so that the people residing in the interiors can convey easily to the Panchayat road. They had willfully consented for the same. Due to some unexplained reasons, some of the people residing in the vicinity decided to construct a new road on the western side of their plot by encroaching into Mrs.Vijayamma’s land. When she resisted, the CPM Supported group threatened of dire consequences. Then she approached for an injunction order and honorable Munsiff court Thodupuzha accorded for the same.
On 18 Sep 07, the same miscreants violated the court order and forcefully constructed 6m road road on the western side by not only encroaching their own lawfully owned land but also demolished many rubber and other trees around. They were supported by around 100 CPM armed men who stood guard when the road construction was going on.
They registered a police complaint at police station Karimkunnam. Although Police personnel reach the place of crime, they did not make any effort to stop the miscreants from their unauthorized activity or to arrest them.
It was a CPM sponsored police action, where Principal Sub Inspector gave protection to violate court order and encroach the plot which belongs to ASI who works under him.
The Vazhithala Local Committee Secretary of CPM, Mr.Remanan is making false allegations against her husband and torturing him in all possible ways and means. Now he transferred to another Dist. I am not able to understand why this LC is supporting for this illegal land encroachment. Now her husband is facing many false criminal cases filed by other group with the support of CPM LC.
Every Police Station in Kerala is being ruled by these LC secretaries. Being a wife of an ASI, she is facing these many troubles and begging the authorities for justice and protection of life. Now you imagine what is happening in Kerala.
