MobME starts bluezone kiosks in Cochin
November 27th, 2007
MobMe, a technology startup in Kerala, has launched a unique service called bluezone in Cochin (Barista chain). Bluezone features a bluetooth enabled kiosk to which users can connect using bluetooth enabled mobile phones. Using this kiosk, one can download applications, ringtones, wallpapers and games.
In Kerala, almost everyone these days carries a mobile phone and most of them has bluetooth capability. But currently very few use the bluetooth feature. With the arrival of bluezones, things are probably going to change. In future, these kiosks may offer essential services such as billpay and ticketing bookings. For the shop owner, it offers a free advertising medium!
For advertising companies, this provides a unique platform to reach the young and affluent population in a cost effective manner.
