Criminals in Kerala - how malayalees treat women (edappal incident)
October 8th, 2007
One of the interesting(?) aspects of life in Kerala is the way society treats its women folk. We are probably one of the worst educated societies in the world which treats women like commodity. The work “charak (commodity)” is a common word among men (even in colleges and schools) used to describe woman.
Here is another example - When a bus passes a junction, you can see all faces turning towards the backseats. It is as if men are doing some kind of “visual rape” on the women riding the bus. Things that happen inside a crowded bus are even worse. Sexual assaults are very common in buses and many men consider it as a proud(?) achievement to be able to sexually assault a poor woman without getting caught!
So with this background, check out the following news. Two woman were brutally assaulted and their cloths torn apart by an educated crowd in broad daylight. One of the woman who was beaten up and was kicked in the stomach was pregnant. There was a big crowd which cheered the criminals!
I don’t know whether god exists or whether there is something called hell. But if there is one, these guys are sure going to rot there.
