The complete destruction of education sector
July 22nd, 2007
It is estimated that one rupee out of four circulating in Kerala is made by Malayalees working outside the state. The mindset is etched so deep in a Malayali that he looks for jobs outside (gulf, north india, chennai, Us etc.) immediately after the education. This also means that not many care about any job creation or industries in Kerala.
One of the reasons why Malayali is able find jobs outside is because he has good education. In Kerala, good education is now synonymous with aided government schools and colleges. These are funded partially by government but run and managed by private parties.
Now what government is looking for is a complete control of these educational institutions by local governing bodies like panchayats. Basically they want the politicians to creep in everywhere and control it. Once implemented this will mean the end of good educational institutions in aided sector.
Whatever currently is happening is a pure and simple case of vendetta. The government lost the self financing case simply because it was against law of the nation. Now they are going around trying to destroy aided colleges/schools by indirectly taking them over by panchayats and by cancelling affiliation of the colleges. Ultimately it is the people who suffer, but hey, who cares?
Almost everything that our government runs is in a very bad condition. But that doesn’t stop them from starting new corporations. For example, there are plans to start retail chains, banks, etc. etc. Wondered why? You can employ a lot of politicians and bureaucrats in each of them providing them with luxury cars and posh bungalows. That is my friends, what we call democracy!

This is not correct. The self financing colleges are milking money out of ordinary people. I am a catholic who studied in a college managed by the church. I had to give huge donations to get admission. Even to get a teacher post in church run school in my village they were asking 2 lakhs per post.

Even in private collages the education is not all that great. The most important thing is how much you can mug up - you don’t have to understand the subject - you just have to mug it up.

The law of the land says that the self financing colleges can be run in this way and therefore the govt has to accept it. No one forces any body to go to these colleges and instead one can go to a govt college where the fees are low. But one has to have calibre to get admission there.
Now if the govt cannot run more colleges let them pay the private managements part of the fees and subsidise education. To get a teacher post in agovt school you have to pay the politician who are the scum of the earth. It is better to pay the church or the NSS or the MES and get a job than to pay the politician

If we dont have enough colleges here… students will go outside and pay the same donation and fees there. Why not pay it here.
