Jo on Thampanoor boat stop

Joseph Thomas writes on the thampanoor boat stop,
First I thought its the people who travel in that car got out to push it. But I was wrong. A friend tells me that there are a group of people waiting for ‘customers’ who get their cars stuck in the middle of the road so that they can ‘help’ them move the car and get paid for it. The politicians/administrators must be feeling proud to have provided an option for the citizens to find such an innovative way for self-employment.
I was once standing at the railway station and a couple of guys from north Kerala landed at the station. They were surprised at the lake in front of the station. So they asked an auto driver - “is it like this every day?”. The auto guy replied - “Yeah, government spent crores of rupees so that we have a lake whenever it rains!”.
