June 25th, 2007
What is a barcamp?
Barcamp is ad-hoc gathering of people with desire to learn and share information. It involves discussions, demonstrations and interaction from participants. Barcamp means participation and normally tourist/visitors are not encouraged. Most of the barcamps are on technical topics.
Barcamp in Kerala?
Yes. It seems that a barcamp is being organized in Kerala. The date/venue is not set yet. But registrations are open. You can register for Kerala barcamp here. Hurry! as there are only 100 registrations open!
What is in it for me?
Obviously a place to share your thoughts and opinions. In addition, they are offering free food, free drinks, free accomodation, free t-shirts and free talks.
Note that free drinks is no longer offered. I guess they forgot that it is Kerala and if you offer free drinks, you will get a million guys wanting to participate in the event! So no liquor in barcamp Kerala.
Disclaimer: I have no idea who is hosting this event. I just came across this site via Google. Participate at your own risk!
