Oops! I did it again! – Achuthanandan strikes again

Recently Kerala chief minister achuthanandan made a statement that only 30% of government employees actually do any work! It is very funny since saying that is like saying “today I found out that sky is blue! hurray!!”. Another thing to note here is that majority of people who don’t work belong to CPM led unions!

I was literally laughing on the floor when Oommen chandy tried to defend employees saying that Achuthanandan should apologize. I think Oommen chandy just came from planet Mars!

In fact if atleast 30% government employees actually worked, things would have been much better. I think honest and working employees are less than 10% in Kerala.

Ok. Here is a challenge.

1. Go to any sales tax office and show me one honest employee. I will pay you Rs.10000 if you can point out one!

2. Go to any checkpost in Kerala and show me one honest employee. I will pay you Rs.1000000 if you can point out one! (I recently visited Amaravila checkpost in Trivandrum. You can hear all the Malayalam obscene words in 10 minutes.)

3. Show me one honest employee who works as an RTO. I will pay you Rs.50000.

4. Show me one police constable who refuses bribe when you offer him something. I will pay you Rs.5000.

I am not saying honest employees are not in Kerala government service. But finding one will be tougher than finding a malayalee without a mobile phone.

Current laws on corruption are outdated. To be effective, law should be amended so that the property of the accused can be attached by the government.

Your points are true and it is applicable not only for Kerala but to whole India.
What is the solution to end these acts ?????

Bringing up the younger generation with honesty is the only long term solution. Will it be possible??

Let the God save the his own country.

KT – the bad news is our govt employees are rooted in corruption. the good news is that the mailaise is much worser as you go move northwards – so we are not alone.

I will mention a personal experience which I faced while going to the local RTO Office to get an International Driving License. My Indian license was all in order and all i needed was to pay 500 Rs (!!!) and get a receipt – following which the RTO has to hand over the International License.

As is the “norm”, I too made use of an agent who promptly did the above, for a fee of 300 RS. The hext step was the most arduous – waiting for the RTO – there was a loong queue of people all with crisp 100 and 500 notes waiting for THE MAN to surface (actually he was doing his “job” on the floor above as he was also operating as the Joint Transport Commissioner!!) Once he appeared, I somehow managed to muscle my way to the front along with the agent to seek HIS divine blessings.

I have never stood with so much reverence in front of any of my school or college principals. I put 750 Rs (500, 2 100’s and a 50) along with the receipt and handed it over.
The man opened his table drawer and nodded to me to deposit the money (so as to avoid touching the note in case any Vigilance appeared and checked his fingerprints). The moment Gandhi landed in the table drawer, he snapped it shut. He looked at me with drowsy ( I can swear he was drunk too) eyes and asked if I had any driving case etc. WIth all humility I said no and he signed the booklet and pressed the bell for his assitant whom he ordered to get the license duely attested and asked me to come and collect the license the next day.

As I mumbled thanks and was about to leave he said “dont mention that you gave this much money to me to the clerks outside. Else they would also demand their share also” !!!
I just muttered an OK sir and went off.

This is a 100% true incident sans any exaggeration

Why are forgetting people who are ready to pay money to them and work done, if some body is breaking the queue, the persons who are standing in the queue are responsible, so the public has also have some responsibility.

Think of a scenerio where nobody is willing to pay money, then they will not ask.

Remeber rationing system, earlier times they were the most corrupted people, now what happened to them,
