How to spread superstition? - the easy way
March 29th, 2007
Recently I got the following notice delivered at my home. For those who cannot read, here is a brief summary.
“There was a miracle in velankanny church….. any person who prints and distributes 1000 copies of this notice will be blessed…. Someone printed 1000 copies and got Rs. 15 lakhs lottery! Another person didn’t believe this and he teared the notice and within 2 days his son was dead!…….”

This is a brilliant scheme. Even the people who doesn’t believe will keep on passing this fraud. In fact to prove this is just superstition, I pretended to tear this and immediately all my relatives pounced on me. They didn’t allow me to touch the notice again!

One thing I can say for sure. I have got several post cards similar to that in the past when I was in India and I never forwarded anyone one of them and I still can see!!!!

These kind of scraps keep jumping into my mailbox way too often. Its hard to digest the fact that there are people who believe this even in this century.
I can only give one word to describe this attitude.
“Pathetic!”

I have never seen a card with this content - but I have seen many emails which follows the same concept.
