Sahodaran on Kerala’s sex maniacs
March 13th, 2007
In Kerala, whenever a bus passes through a busy junction, you will see that a lot of male faces in the junction turn towards the back of the bus (or front if the bus is a private bus). What are they looking for? They are doing something called “visual rape”. They are looking for women sitting at the back seats.
If you are inside bus you will notice that women and men never sit together. It is as if women and men sitting together might lead to sexual desires and actions.
Sexual harassement is part of a Malayali woman’s life. Everywhere, in trains, in buses, in public places, she is harassed (verbally, by touch or by looks). In buses, sexual harassment is widespread.
If you are a woman and walk alone through trivandrum city, you will soon find that you are being stalked. In Thampanoor, men come upto you and ask your rate(!) Can you believe it? Remember this happens in broad daylight!
In one sentence, Kerala has a lot of sex maniacs. One possible explanation is that sexuality is suppressed in Kerala. Everything about sex is a tightly guarded secret(!) [Except probably in magazines such as Vanitha]
Assume that you are married and walk with your wife through a street. How will it feel if evey guy coming opposite you looks at your wife (by looks I mean the look that a sexual predator has when he sees his victim).
In this context, I perfectly understand Sahodaran’s anger. He writes,
I am not talking about “gender equality”, “women absent in politics and intelligentsia”,”female foeticide”,”50% share in marriage, cooking, housekeeping and washing underwear”,” allowing entrance to women to temple during their periods” or even “women cannot walk through public roads once it starts getting dark”. These demands are a few centuries away from this place.
But what pisses me off is the proud motherf***ing that takes place in buses, public streets, cinema halls and anywhere outside her “home”, in pure day light.Comrade or no comrade, DYFI or the Youth League, everyone loves this mother f***ing. The “thing” speaks in stead of brain, and of course we are not there enough to speak of heart.
Sidenote: There is an initiative started by some to tackle sexual harassment on the streets. If anything similar is organized in Kerala, they would need police protection!

perfectly agree.infact there have been times when i have actually thought being born a woman was the worst that could ever happen to me in a lifetime.
the stares, the seemingly-apologetic but deliberate attempts on grazing and touching and those obvious attempts on trying to get a hold of ur body is very very disgusting.i wonder if there’s a way men can be raped.not that it will help.who would want to even glare at these disgusting mentally disturbed and sex-starved maniacs of the so called intellectually-mature kerala??

If anything similar is organized in Kerala, they would need police protection!
the kerala police,if anything like this happens in kerala, the police would not only deny protection, but they will actually give your earfulls of advice and even call your parents and let them know that “their daughter is involved in unhealthy practices and issues”.that is what they think their duty is.
to take the “role of parents” of girls, who are being utilized by their “boyfriends” and are treading the “wrong-path-vazhithettipokunna penkuttikale neraaya maargathilekku thirichu kondu varuka” ennathaanu kerala police inte karthavyam!!

I feel that this issue is blown out of proportion. We have discussed this sooo much that every male feels like he is part of a a group thats supposed to molest women. I never go near strange women in public, dont even dare to sit with them in the bus. I am sooo afraid about all this hype around sexual harrasment I dont event dare to help a women in distress.

This is a very disgusting society we live in. Very perverted and dirty to look after a woman with lust. I am a Christian. Read Matthew 25:27-30 in the Bible about Lust with they eyes wherever you are. Either on a Bus, Train, or Street. If your born and raised in California and visit Kerala with your younger sisster, some pervert approaches her and does what the author of this blog written, that person would get beat up.

I personally feel we gotta get some harsh punishments into force !, rather than acting like a demented upholder of moral values , the kerala police can actually clear the sreets off these lousy elements!…I hope some dude from the Kerala police is hearing , we can take care of our moral values & let us decide what we need to do , just make sure some SOB doesnt go around freely !

The mouth-gaping maniacs behave as though they came from an Arab country where all woman cover their bodies. The ladies may have to wear burkkah if such anti-social elements are not booked

It is true that a good percentage of male in kerala are perverts. But the notable factor is that there is no need to worry about the youths… the matter of cncern is a section of aged men who go for mentally raping girls of their grand daughter’s age. It is a shame on the so called cent per cent literate community of the country who shares american standard of living!
Next time when you walk along the busy streets of kerala with your wife or sister beware!

It is high time to book the maniacs of kerala who mentally rape girls in broad day light.
The funniest part is about a section of the aged men folk who are mentally molesting girls of their grand daughter’s age!.
I think only by a mental make up this can be cured. The youngsters should be spiritually moulded.
OR next time when you walk along the busy roads of kerala with your wife and sisters, close your eyes.
