Adi thettiyaal raashtrapathiyum veezhum (Kalam falls down onstage)

President Abdul J Kalam tripped and fell on the stage at the Sangeet Natak Akademi Awards, 2006. He was tripped by a walking stick used by one of the awardees(Manipuri scholar Khelchandra Singh) sitting in the dias. Kalam seemed unhurt and was in good spirits after the fall.

Its unfortunate that you have not attained the maturity to differentiate between a lay politician and the First Citizen of our Great Nation.
താങ്കളുടെ അറിവില്ലായ്മ അല്ലാതെ എന്തു പറയാന്. എന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ പതാകയും , രാഷ്ട്രപതിയും എന്നെപോലെ എല്ലാ ഭാരതീയനും വിലപ്പെട്ടതാണു. അതിനെ ഈ വിധത്തില് കാണാന് എനിക്ക് വിഷമമുണ്ട്.
ഇതു ഇവിടുന്ന മാറ്റാന് ദയവുണ്ടാവണം.

To me “the first citizen” and any other citizen of India are same. The basis of our constitution is that “all of us are equal”.
I have just reported what came in all major Kerala newspapers.
