Vinod from Trivandrum converted his Maruti 800 to an amphibious carwhich can run on road and on water! It took him 5 years and 8.5 lakh rupees.
Vinod is a mechanic and has a diploma in refrigeration technology.
“I was traveling in my car in the city when it was raining. I got stuck in the floodwaters in a low-lying area and water entered the car. Then it refused to start. I had a harrowing time. At that time I wished that if I had an amphibious car, I would not have faced such problems,” said Vinod, Inventor.
He is talking about Thampanoor, where Kerala government spent crores to make it a flood area! Vinod has also plans of taking a patent on the car.

I like the idea of floating cars, but I like the idea of levitating cars even more. Ideally, I would like road vehicles to be able to levitate like Doc Emmett Brown’s DeLorean.
