Another mafia in the making - Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi groups

Groups such as Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi are slowly transforming themselves into mafia organizations. They are always looking for ways to bully even the Kerala Government! Here are some examples from recent history.

1. Recently organized hartal in support of movie piracy (I think this can go into guiness book).

2. Any new shop keeper is bullied to join the organization. If you don’t join them, you get harassed.

3. Bully companies which supply quality products (for example, HLL or Cola companies).

4. When goverment started Maveli stores to help people, these people started “Vamana” stores!

The commodity prices in Kerala are going up very fast. Life is getting hard for those people who live on daily wages.

Now these associations hate entry of Reliance or other retail giants. The reason is simple - Retail giants will provide quality products for reasonable price. This coupled with traders hostile attitude towards customers will surely ensure that everyone will queue at the supermarket.

So the rogue traders feel threatened. Hence Kerala will be the first state, where entry of retail giants will be greeted with hartals and strikes.

i stayed in tribvandrum for 24 yrs and travelled a lot ,now settled in hyderabad ,i have been to all metros in india. There is a big diffrence in how shop owners treat customers in kerala.
in hyderabad Blore Delli chennai and mumbai i have done shopping ranging from street vendors to Hi-fi malls. They treat cuntomer as God because they know that their bread and butter come from customers who buy their service offering.
The problem will end if big retailers will come to kerala and offer their service .
that is why this vyapara vyavasaaya guys are making big hue and cry about that ,they know common people will not come to them because people are fed up by their arrogance and un friendliness.

Please some one teach shop ownners atleast to smile at their customers and treat them friendly.
