Rishiraj singh’s over enthusiasm - CD shop owners suffer

Rishiraj singh declares that all CD and DVD rental shops are illegal and sends a circular to all the police stations. It is really funny since even in US where copyright is supposed to be one of the 10 commandments, you can rent a CD or a DVD (blockbuster, netflix for example). Manorama reports that sensible police officers have decided not to take action on his circular.
In a democracy, the elected goverment is supposed to step in when someone in beaurocracy gets hyper active and starts harassing ordinary citizens. There are thousands of people who make a living by running CD rental shops. So it is high time LDF government steps in and puts some control on this police officer.
I think Rishiraj singh has gone too far. Now I have serious doubts about his motives. Whatever he is doing is going to help creation of an entertainment mafia.
Already some of the cinema associations have started showing “hitler” behavior. They are saying that if you are a cinema worker, you must join the association, you must join all their strikes and demonstrations. Basically what we see is the “might is right” behaviour.

Hrishiraj Singh cannot be blamed. He, in his new circular, has reproduced a relevant rule in the copywright act passed by our legislature. It is those legislatures who passed this stupid clause in the legislation who are to blame. Instead of blaming Mr.Singh, the affected persons should unite to get the legislation amended or dropped. Mr.Singh is only trying to implement a law passed by the legislature and it is his duty to do so though his predecessors failed. Let us take this oppertunity to point out the haphazard manner in which legislation is made.- chandrakumar.

Moserbear is very happy. The timing of raids with Moserbear acquiring all the copyrights is notable. I smell something fishy in these raids.

We should appreciate this like movements. What ever may be the case everybody knows piracy is banned by law. Whether mousebare or any MNC is taking advantage or not is different …I feel there is no mafia of any evil spirit behinds it..
