Farmer suicides in Kerala

Suicides, especially farmer suicides are no longer news in Kerala. Suicide rates are always on the increase. farmsuicides does a round up farmer suicide in Kerala (2005-2006).
The main reason behind these suicides has been the debt problem. Most of them take loans from banks and when something happens to the crop, they are in deep trouble. Goverment has also made it easier for banks to attach property on lapse of loan payments. This has become a major social problem in Wayanad.
