Criminals beware! - Polygraph machine at Trivandrum
February 8th, 2007
Kerala police has installed a polygraph machine (lie detector) in Trivandrum as part of the modernization program. Home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishan inaugurated the machine, but didn’t volunteer for a test
In fact the machine was with Kerala police with sometime. The problem was that nobody was available to operate it. Kerala Police also has plans of installing other modern crime fighting tools such as the brain mapping device.
It is interesting to note that the usage of these devices (some are known to have serious health issues) are on the increase. These are supposed to be used in rarest of the cases, but nowadays are being overused.
