Schools in Kerala now teaching begging!

Unbelievable? Well, here is how it works. Many schools now print receipt books for anything varying from library renovation to annual celebrations. These receipt books are then given to students to collect money from public. In practise, this turns out to be begging with one or more students going to houses to collect money.
Now you can imagine how it feels for parents of girl students! Already child abuse is Kerala is on the rise. For sexual predators this is like a lottery. So many parents will pay for the entire receipt book from their pocket. This way their children need not learn begging!
I have noticed that this is more prevalent in Thrissur.

I would not go so far as to call it ‘begging education’, but I agree that this practice must stop.

What if we try to see it with a different perspective….. Can we see it as a part of social interaction, a little experience with marketing !!! Just a thought…

how dare kenny say…’itz a part of social interaction’!! der are many other ways for children to interact socially…..dis is really absurd!!
