Education and religious tolerance

I believe that there is not much relation between education and religious tolerance. I have seen many intelligent and highly educated people full of religious hatred. Today I came across this blog, author of which seems pretty intelligent (I don’t know who it is). In the post, author talks about a news item about a christian church organizing ‘ottanthullal’ featuring hindu a fable. The post is interesting till the end when the author abruptly says,

Now My comments:
In one simple word –ALL HUMBUG!
Christians are here to convert Hindus at any cost.
This is one more part of the game of conversion!!

That reduces the entire blog to nothing more than garbage.

In Kollavarsham 149 (AD1051) the Chera King Vallabhan Kotha had given a Chepped to the Chengannur Church conferring the title Mappila to all the Syrian Chrstians. The Syrian churches existing at that time were known as Mother Churches. After this Chepped was given, members of those churches were given the title ‘Mappila’ or children of Mother Churches and they suffixed Mappila with their names as a title of honour” Ibid.
